My main body of work are not 3D sign installations or graffiti. My main motto is form follows content. I don’t want to stand still and make 3D works, but don’t mind showing works on photos. I hope the organisers trust and understand this."
 
Akim wants to start a debate via the workshop with participants, have fun, conquer oneself, form opinions, correct them, analyse experience and integrate this in participant’s works. The synthesis of my reception of the public space is an interaction between the statoc public space with a given code and the moving body(action), which breaks the code.

The term public space can be extended to media space. Any person that tries to understand art has to face the media visibility, in whatever form. My street art work deals with unfiltered analogue zones of seeing, here (in Manchester) it is about collecting, analysing analogue experience.

Akim works with 3d installation in public spaces.

As part of the NOISE workshop via active engagement, participants experience the urban space with their own bodies, to find answers how we can experience the public space. For example, what is the difference between the perception of an individual and a collective? This will be achieved through actions and interventions in the public space. Want to provoke different views of perceptions. The actions can be captured on film and analysed. Aims are:

• Improving sensibilities for public space
• Individual and collective usage
• Integration of workshop experience in own work

Contents May Vary Talk and interactive Quiz


Young renegade art collective, Contents May Vary, will give an informal chat about their work and current display in the Noise Lab, they will end their talk with an interactive art inspired pub quiz with actual prizes to be won!

Contents May Vary are a currently made up of co-founders Richard Shields, Liz Murphy and Alice Bradshaw who show collectively as well as individually and also organise large scale exhibitions inviting other artists to participate. Additionally, they run an independent free-of-charge publication with international distribution. Their work incorporates many disciplines and choose to place work amidst the everyday.
Though they admit to “not being the first artist collective formed in Manchester”, but believe in “2010 we are the only one that matters”.
“Our openings and events create a social platform bringing artists and viewers together from across the social spectrum to the best effect witnessed in Manchester. We're self-perpetuating, we're DIY, we're the A team of art, they are an outlaw’s horse; where they believe their own hype. According to CVM “no one could do what they do as well as they do it!”
Contents May Vary were recently runners up for the Best Of Manchester Art Prize, 2009.
